The Very Rev. Fr. John Daly holds a BA in Soviet and Eastern European Studies from the
University of Massachusetts, Amherst (1978), and an MDiv. from The General Theological
Seminary, NYC (1983). He earned an MA in History from Worcester State University in 2015. He
has been the rector of St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church in Southbridge, MA, for thirty-
four years.
He spent 13 years in the classroom at Abby Kelley Foster Charter School (Worcester, MA) and 2
years in the Diocese of Worcester schools (St Peter Marian HS, St Mary’s, Shrewsbury). In
addition, he served as the Curriculum Coordinator and the initial International Baccalaureate
Program Coordinator at Abby Kelley for a combined total of seven years, from 2008 to 2014,
and as the Curriculum Director for the RC Diocese of Worcester from 2014 to 2022.
His experience with both teaching and curriculum development has provided him with an
excellent overview of public and religious education, gained through both teaching and
administrative roles. His devotion to the Orthodox Church as a pastor and to excellence in
learning as an educator lays the groundwork for his passion for a specifically Classical school
grounded in the Orthodox faith and the highest values of Western Civilization.
