Elizabeth Markopoulos holds a B.A. from Providence College in Elementary and Special
Education. She taught as a Self-Contained Special Educator in a Kindergarten Classroom. She
utilized many types of modifications and accommodations to help students with varying
disabilities access the curriculum and support their varying learning styles. Elizabeth taught as a
Special Education Inclusion teacher for fourth and fifth grade students. As an Inclusion teacher,
she collaborated with the main classroom teacher to provide students with processing issues, the right tools to succeed within a regular classroom atmosphere. She worked as an assistant teacher for a private preschool gaining insight and experience with Early Childhood Education.
Elizabeth is a committed member of her Orthodox community and truly values her Religion and
Faith. She has taught First grade Sunday school at the Church of the Annunciation, in Cranston,
Rhode Island. For 6 years, she has taught the Little Angels youth group at Saint Spyridon
Cathedral imparting basic Orthodox knowledge and concepts to children ages one to four while
building a strong community with the mothers.
