Presbytera Eleni Christakos

Presvytera Eleni holds a B.S. in Pharmacy. After 15 years of practicing pharmacy, she transitioned to homeschooling her three children full-time in the classical and Charlotte Mason traditions which she has been doing for 14 years. In addition to teaching in a classical, Christian learning cooperative for five years such subjects as literature, poetry, upper elementary physics & chemistry, drawing, and Greek and Latin roots, she has co-directed a religious education program for the last 10 years while teaching in the church-school classrooms. Following her passions for reading, learning, and teaching, she has led year-round book discussion groups on the Orthodox faith with adult women both in-person and online.

Her gravitation to the St. Kosmas Academy mission was fueled by a desire to draw from her experience in the hope that it would benefit the children and families who are able to participate in this school. She believes that the power of stories, narratives, scriptures, and the like are unparalleled in the formation of a virtuous person and spreading such wealth would bring her great joy.
